This was a bit of an undecided day of painting. I couldn't decide how to approach this image. I started with a rough ink drawing, added watercolor, and dry pastel. I was playing with the effect of pastel as a layer not being concerned with the accuracy of the subject matter. Soft effect pastel defined some of the details while the watercolor created the background.
