I love gardening and enjoy watching just about any plant grow and develop. The colors and shapes and combinations are endless and offer so many ways to abstract certain details and ignore others in favor of making an interesting design in a painting. The overall background of this painting settled into a dark rich green but as it hung on the wall in my studio it seemed to need a lighter feel. The light warm white covered over a large amount of darks and I think it has helped this piece come to life.
