Framed in pine-color floater. This piece evolved from a few drawn lines of charcoal. I frequently use waterfront elements from fishhouses and fishermen to family and animals. In this case the single image of a fisherman inside the fishhouse, surrounded by an archway, a skiff shape, and roof of a house, evolved until I had to figure out what was going on with all the elements in this painting. I felt at some point considering the wave pattern covering the figure, it could mean he was fully committed to his work as a fisherman, and nothing else was more important to him.
