This 24x36" piece has a long history of trying to make a final work. There are layered swatches of fabric on the lowest layer, along with many many layers of paint. The challenge was to work with the heavily painted textured surface to find a design of shapes that took advantage of that surface. Keeping it simple with this farm and fishhouse design allowed me to work with elements that were compatible and the wavy dragged lines suggest both water and fields. I've always loved the waterfront but find myself living inland near farms and forests and have woven them together here.
