A Little Change Is Good
by Ann Trainor Domingue
This large work is an imagined situation drawn with soft charcoal on a randomly colored underpainting of acrylic. I first simply played with colors , patterns, and layered color as the first layers on a gessoed canvas. After many layers of color were dry I looked through my sketchbook for a sketch that jumps out to me as a possibility for this large work. I modified the sketch to fit this space as I usually do, and then added a female figure to the group of guys to highlight the differences between them all. It all works together as they live in their chosen space.
