Through and Through
by Ann Trainor Domingue
Framed in maple floater. This painting is a move toward being less descriptive with figures and more about allowing a painting to evolve without trying. Without applying my specific idea too soon in the process. As the underpainting was evolving, I let myself just play with adding layers of line and color. At a point I liked what was happening in those layers and environment that had casually been created by my 'thoughtless' approach. I think this way I am leaving the final image more open to a viewer's interpretation.
