At The End of The Day
by Ann Trainor Domingue
The underpainting of the piece was one that was an unsuccessful painting that sat in my studio off to the side for a few months. Tired of looking at it I began to add fabric scraps and built this composition. I rather like the way the scruffiness of the surface matches my experience of the weathered surfaces of a working waterfront. I like the play of sunlight and the reds of the structures against the various grays.
