White Hot Day
by Ann Trainor Domingue
I began this piece with random colors and marks made with different tools including a sander, knife, scrapers, paint and pencil. I had no design in mind until I felt I had something to work with. I then defined these shapes which I frequently use to create a bold design shown here. I tend to use may colors in my work and I tried to bring a large swath of a solid color into this series of recent work to contrast the busy textured underpainting.
