Making Headway

Frame cost to be added on. Seeing sailboats in and around the NH and ME coasts has been the idea behind this piece. I am interpreting my recent work through a lens of abstraction and how I can use real imagery while I explore the edges of what I see with the edges of what is possible by using less specific techniques of painting with acrylic. Although other mediums can be used to create effects, I like using acrylic for its ability to be clean edges or roughed up as shown in this piece. I like the rich textures and simple shapes with a bit of collage--here I've used small bits of retired sail fabric for the triangle shapes suggesting sailboats if different kinds.
