This piece brings icon-like images I have developed over the years together to create an image that feels familiar while playing with the land and seascapes. the rocky islands of the Maine coastline are the imagery that I've depicted here. Although here in New Hampshire it could easily be an island in a beautiful crystal clear fresh water lake. The fisherman and lobster boat are also images I love working with along with playing with shapes and specifics of them. The shapes of color and pattern in this piece fit together like a puzzle, another approach to my paintings that I have explored over the years.
