Precious Time
by Ann Trainor Domingue
Finding the essence of something, somewhere or someone is an interest of mine for a long time. What aspects of a view, a subject, a person or a place can I use to make a painting. Instead of putting every single detail in place I chose to eliminate more than I kept in this piece. In a way I felt like I wasn't putting enough into it, but as I stepped back I felt maybe I had actually achieved something more by painting less. I gave her space to think, or remember, or worry and reminisce. Or wait, or relax, or plan, or just be at peace.
