An 8x8 painting collage was the starting point for this piece. I had made a set of collages that began with pieces of paper that had been leftover from one of my annual calendars. I cut up images and randomly selected four pieces to make into a square, then designed a painted image using the collage as a base. They worked out in a very graphic way and this 36x36 is an enlargement of the collage titled 'Good Neighbors'. I have significantly embellished the colors in this large work but the essence of the design is still here.
