A tube of lemon yellow acrylic paint was the beginning of the journey of this painting. I almost never begin a piece with this color so it was a surprise as I developed it that I was enjoying using it and a warmer yellow cadmium medium. The sky area shows evidence of the play of both colors and the mixed greys of the fish houses kept the painting in an overall warm tonality. I've been in love with weathered shingles and wood for a long time so to use these tones in my work allows me to actually use this color influence in my work.
