This was a challenge for me to incorporate the two new bridge structures into this piece and its companion Village Above and Below. I explored several options for placement or the arch, cement uprights and the metalwork upright into this painting. I settled into allowing the upper part of the composition and have it interrupted by the uprights and tower over the city of Portsmouth. These represent for me the back and forth of peoples' lives and how important it is to move back and forth to do life. I like the energy and action of what happens on the seacoast and enjoy any excuse to be there. :)
