Portsmouth Harbor Patterns
by Ann Trainor Domingue
Plein air sketch done on site in Kittery Maine overlooking Portsmouth harbor, NH. A cluster of waterfront brick buildings face the Piscataquoag River in Portsmouth and create a blockade of color and constant activity on the water. Boats of all kinds and sizes zip through all day long--from skiffs to tugboats to tankers. Quite a sight. This sketch was done after a few warm up pencil sketches as I took in all the details and interesting aspects of this view.
