The base of this piece is a loose layering of drippy thin acrylic, with stamped on circles with lid and bottom of a jar of paint. After it dried, I went back to my sketchbook to discover a design that might work in this vertical format. I didn't find anything exactly like shown here but found just enough to continue on. The arc of light anchors the top area while the negative shape below provided and arch over what would become the focal area. An 8x6 little painting hanging on my wall nearby provided the rich dark at the lower left. the couple in the doorway was already a familiar motif.
