Into the Light

This single fish house has spawned so many paintings as I began my painting career. I have modified the original actual house located on Monhegan Island in Maine as I worked on this painting. The simplicity of the house shape with its weathered shingles against a brilliant sunset was the image I couldn't get out of my mind since my first experiences visiting Monhegan. It morphed into well over a hundred paintings and sketches utilizing the fish house as a metaphor for many sentiments I have about living and life. Hope you'll enjoy these too.
