Sunrise Sunset
by Ann Trainor Domingue
This piece began with vibrant rich color underpainting beneath the now quiet, muted colors. I scraped wet paint with a sharp stick to expose some of the bright undercolor creating a vibrancy or sparkle of colors. The blues under the dory shapes was smeared on with a palette knife as I cleaned off my glass palette. I was a thoughtless application but I recognized it was a perfect contrast to the defined edges of the other shapes. Hope you enjoy.
