Working on the Water

This piece marks the beginning of a new series based on the flotsam and jetsam found along New England waterfronts. these are necessities abstracted and woven into a fresh look at buoys, ropes, and boat registration numbers. This piece has more hand-drawn linework than many of my pieces that rely on painted areas to create a composition. The looping white line is fishing line that can be found on all boats and docks. IT's style pulls together the right and left sides of the work, dipping into the dark shadow area at the right. Hope you enjoy the look.
