This little painting began with a dark blue underpainting and a layer of thick white paint. While wet I scraper through the white to create a 'line' drawing which I was prepared to paint with different colors. But the line drawing seemed so direct and complete on it's own, I simply added a little warmth to her cheeks and it was done. Sometimes you have to listen when an artwork speaks.
