Beneath the Blue
by Ann Trainor Domingue
My love of so many aspects of the seacoast formed the basis for this piece. I have explored the idea of schools of fish in some past works and this one incorporates a similar idea of the beauty seen when fish are swimming in formation, creating graceful curves and shapes that morph into larger even more elegant forms. This inspiration can inspire a whole series of works and this particular one is part of that--painted with a playful quinacridone magenta underpainting layered with semitransparent whites and blues.
