I continue to work on these overlapping layers of fish houses and fishermen and the shapes that inhabit their daily workplace. I am not sure what I am looking for when I do these pieces I just wait and see what happens when I begin to draw from my small line sketches. I add textures both in line and by scraping the wet paper at the semi-dry stage which allows the white of the paper to show back through. I like the way the softly curved shapes of the people compliment the edgier crisp geometry of the shacks. I find a balance of elements somewhere along the painting and drawing process--and then I stop. Framed.
