This piece merges three aspects of my artmaking process--my love of water, adding fabrics pieces, and now stone. I have many beach stones collected over time sitting in various places around my home and studio. I love the soft colors, and texture, and the smooth no-quite-roundness of these. How they feel in your hands. I have used the softness of the stone to bring a contrast to the shine of the water and ripples depicted here using highlights of bits of fabric. Hope you enjoy the effect. The stone is permanently glued to the surface of the painting.
