Working piers offer many variations of boat lineups to work with as subject matter. Coming and going always. This painting tries to capture some of the still moments while using paint strokes that are full of energy. The busy pier is contrasted with the painted foreground of quieter water with undertones of warm sienna layered over with a soft grey green tone.
