Heading Homeward

Late afternoon sunlight shining off the facade of a home was the impetus for this painting. The dark sky after an afternoon of rain created the stark background for the home as well as a rich color for the figures walking up the hill toward home. Although in reality the foreground had much more texture and detail in it I selected to keep it simple in order to keep the main idea of the couple walking toward home, the main idea.
