Gave our goddaughter a ukelele for Christmas this year and it was a big hit. It also reminded me of the bag of Hawaiian quilting squares I had purchased many years ago in Maui. I enjoy the sound of the uke and decided to combine my fabrics with the uke design in this piece. I wove flowers through the strings as a kind of vase and really liked the color and energy it created.
