Classic Cape Cod painters to include Karl Knaths, Henry Hensche, Charles Hawthorne, Paul Resika, Robert Motherwell were in my head as I created this work. My artist residency in Provincetown last fall allowed me to view so much of the works of these painters that it was impossible not to be influenced by their work. I used my preference for drawn black lines and bold design as I developed this piece.
