Story Island is a made up name for a place that has inspired so much of my coastal-inspired work. This painting had previously had a very intense, heavy color scheme with a lot of color. I was never completely happy with it and decided to renovate it using a more subdued color scheme. If you look closely you'll also see an overlay of a school of fish wandering across the surface, linking shapes and areas together as they swim through. Segments suggest a different view from windows of a home each seeing a different story or point of view.
