Ways of Life 2

(This painting can be paired with Ways of Life 1.) This piece began as a random set of figures and houses, fish and trees. I then connected them together with the teal blue outline. To define further I used a warm white to cover over areas which in doing so began to show me an interconnected design. As a last step I added the dark shapes to help the eye move through the composition, creating a sense of community along the waterfront.
