They'll Be Here Soon
by Ann Trainor Domingue
Foggy moments at the Harbor Fish Market wharf in Portland Maine provides subtle tones of color reminiscent of watercolors--a medium I first began using in 1984. I've always loved drawing and then adding watercolor. In this painting, I’m using transparent acrylic, blending tints and layering for lighting effects, to provide a sense of diffused light. The fog-softened shadows and color allowed the bright white of the seagulls to shine.
